I just got hold of the latest Oracle magazine, it has more information. More
importantly...it states near the back that OpenText's next version will be using
Oracle Content Database...do you think Hummingbird will be run as the little
brother with RedDot? or swallowed up?...
They also quote that they have written a full set of Web Service APIs
compatible with J2EE and .Net to allow full access to the functions in Oracle
Content Database and Records Database.
Obviously price will keep them out of the Small Business Market but most large organisations tend to have Oracle and would be a big competitor against the likes of Hummingbird RedDot and Microsoft Sharepiont 2007 which are Microsoft SQL based.
