Anyone who's seen Tom Cruise in Minority Report and gone..."man I want that screen"...are that bit closer. Apple have bought the patent for this awesome multi-touch screen technology which is shown off in this video. Again, the link is on Google Video which seems to be getting more and more take up. Interestingly it can also be found at YouTube which even Bill Gates was happy to promote at MIX06.
Mac Rumours has some talk on it, engadget, world of apple, appleinsider, and digg has plenty of hits.
This is amazing stuff and it'd be really interesting to see how this kind of technology sways how we surf for information on the Internet aswell.
M$ started some buzz last week at CeBit regarding Origami and their UMPC (Ultra Mobile PC). They have a "multitouch" interface with screen shots to demonstrate how this could come to light. More on UMPC at UMPC news, UMPC Community and the Origami project homepage.
