Apple iTunes and iPod mini

I started using my Palm V organiser again and configured iSync with iCal etc. Anyways, I plugged in my iPod and when i got to work I found I had a reminder to make my rent payment on my screen. I think that is such a great facility! Very clever Apple!

It'll be interesting to see the take up on the Shuffle. After convincing myself I could cope with just random songs, I'm glad I bought a Mini instead to give me the options. This latest firmware is impressive being able to rate songs on the fly etc.
I suppose the price and size of Shuffle are the main selling points and the fact you don't need wires to connect it etc.

It's also interesting to note that they've dropped the Firewire cable when you purrchase one. Apple have always pushed Firewire and it is so much faster at transferring too. Be interesting what reprecutions this has.

My friend, Ryan, is over from the UK staying with me and he has one of these Sony NetWalkman things, it's tiny and quite a nice design. One thing that I was impressed with is the pen size removable battery (which is just a standard battery size) and also that the software analyses the BPM and creates playlists for different moods. I haven't seen it running, but what a great idea! For saying chilling out to, working out to, working to etc! I wonder how long iTunes will take to get this...
I wonder what kind of dent Sony can make into the MP3 player market after only just recently allowing the MP3 format as well as their own ATRAC format. Maybe they are too late! Also, the players seem a bit more expensive due to the brand.
