The announcement on the 15th April by Adobe amazes me. I can't believe that Adobe are going down this route and that Macromedia have let this happen. I mean both have mediocre products competing against each other:

• Illustrator vs. Freehand
• Photoshop vs. Fireworks
• Flash vs. GoLive

This 'merge' could make them very competitive with sharing PDF and Flash technology against Microsoft and Apple who both use this technology in their line up as well.
